Private Message to Professor Sinistra
Mar. 22nd, 2012 08:28 pmProfessor,
Loathe as I am to disrupt what I am sure is a stimulating evening, would you be so kind as to join the Governors in the Headmistress' office?
There is a matter one would have thought trifling but which has apparently engendered such debate as to keep us through the appointed hour and then some besides. Suspect that were you to appear we might resolve the issue in short order and thence entreat Peakes to release us back to our other appointed duties.
If you don't mind, of course.

I'll be right down - just give me a moment to let Gilly know and make it down the stairs.

Date: 2012-03-23 02:09 am (UTC)I'd say I'm surprised at how much time it took to sort out. But after any number of similar discussions, I'm used to the way people have such strong opinions about one or two students for no reason that makes any outside sense.

Date: 2012-03-23 02:16 am (UTC)If you think that took an inordinate amount of time, try the meetings when they haggle over the budget.

Date: 2012-03-23 02:21 am (UTC)(And as to the concern - well, certainly not your fault. Still a little on edge about unanticipated meetings, apparently, but I'm sure that will improve given a little more distance from last week.)
One of the things I'm very grateful for with the YPL work is that we have relatively few fusses over the budget. At least there, though, it can be easier to see why someone's being stubborn.

Date: 2012-03-23 03:07 am (UTC)2 April: Museums in New London: CCF students and the six 3rd years we discussed (Miss Lestrange, Miss Sandoval, Miss Stevens, Mr Jugson, and Mr Cuthbert and Mr duMaurier.)
8 April: Yorkshire Dales visit. Open to CCF and those students by request (as families may have plans for that Sunday)
11 April: Cambridge visit. CCF and YPL students by request - as many of the CCF students as wish, plus another 20 from other years.
12 April: Time on their own (in suitably sized groups) in New London: CCF students and the six named above invited to attend if they wish, and stay for the evening event.
As to the YPL meetings, alas, I've two days of them, at the beginning of our break. It's the only sensible time to really plan the summer events properly.

Date: 2012-03-23 03:23 am (UTC)Trust you may see to it that they are given the opportunity in time for holidays.
If you're going to be in New London at the first of the month, then, perhaps you might see if Narcissa could arrange for you to go to her salon. I have it on authority that a spot of pampering to look forward to makes even lengthy meetings seem more tolerable.

Date: 2012-03-23 03:30 am (UTC)As to New London - thank you, for the idea. (And if you're sure it wouldn't be an imposition on Narcissa's time.) I believe Raz has a few ideas of his own in mind, as well.
