May. 25th, 2012 11:44 amDearest,
Sorry to miss you at breakfast; was already in the field by three o'clock to help in the search for any unaccounted operatives. Suspect it shall be late Sunday before we are entirely finished with the preliminary interrogations. (Prophet's estimate of the detentions and arrests is, if anything, a bit low: Closer to 60 than 40.)
However, we've taken a brief pause for luncheon, so I have time to tell you: Everything (and everyone) is all right. No injuries of any note to worry you; no major losses on our end. Many on theirs (over one hundred at last count); one of their policies was to commit suicide rather than allow capture. A policy, one might note, that not all of them followed.
The one thing that this operation has made immediately clear is that the DogStar's reach has extended itself further than anyone believed possible. There are sure to be a series of larger investigations prompted by the information we are now collecting. The camps, St Mungo's, even the Prophet had been infiltrated. Where they had none of their own ensconced, they allowed bribes to turn blind eyes to their labours.
Still much to be done and of course, reports to be given at this afternoon's Court. Suffice to say, although the organisation was not eradicated completely, it was a decisive victory.

Date: 2012-05-25 11:26 pm (UTC)If the ... circumstances were different, my love, I doubt you should feel so tired.
Was Court better, in the wake of this development? Are you able to come home at all?

Sunday may be optimistic.

Date: 2012-05-25 11:42 pm (UTC)Shall I come to Kensington? From there it's as close to MLE as from St James' Square.

Date: 2012-05-25 11:52 pm (UTC)It's you I'm worried about, though. If I know you, you'll stay at MLE and only return to St James' Square to freshen up before returning. At least if we were in Kensington I should have a hope of forcing you to eat something and rest a while.
