As a School Governor - and as your father, Draco - I had an owl from Professor Brutka last night.
Are you both well?
Draco your mother wishes me to say that she desires you to take greater caution now that your lessons apparently involve creatures with a decidedly more lethal capacity. Assured her that you are not so foolish as to ignore a professor's instructions nor to approach a dangerous beast with less than complete focus but in essence, I think she simply means she is relieved you were not seriously injured. Kindly convey our well-wishes to Harry as well, since we cannot here. Trust he is also pleased that he was not at the centre of the moment.
Pansy, Professor Brutka seemed concerned that you reacted disproportionately to the threat - though I suppose given the date, it could be excused as a sign of great strain. Have you had any recurrence of ulceration? If you should suffer the symptoms, go at once to the Matron for your tonic.
Professor Brutka also wondered whether the Governors would wish to conduct an inquiry to the incident. Shall have to confer with the others, but if either of you believe it would be wise, kindly provide your reasons so I may communicate your assessment to the Board.

Date: 2011-05-06 03:23 pm (UTC)I just haven't been sleeping well, and you're right, the timing was just awful. I'd been thinking about Regulus all day, because of what he did to his arm last year, and to see all the blood was just a bit much is all. I might get a Dreamless Sleep from her for tonight, but my stomach has been fine.
But Ron is okay, and Draco is too, and that's what matters. And Professor Brutka was quick to react, it's just Ron was closer and quicker. So you oughtn't blame him, Professor Brutka, I mean. At least I don't think so. If you want me to write up what happened from what I remember, I can write it down and send it to you. But it all happened so quickly, I'm not sure how much use it would be.

Date: 2011-05-06 05:00 pm (UTC)I'm perfectly fine. Please do reassure Mother. I didn't really see much of what made the creature lash out, so I can't provide a clear report on that.
It is true that Weasley ran in front of the hippogriff and distracted it. I'm thankful, but...it's not as if he did it to save me. Believe me, I know he'd never do that, as he's made perfectly clear only just recently. Pansy was screaming and he just reacted the way a big Gryffindor like him would. Only now Pansy's treating him like a hero, and even Daphne Greengrass and some other people seem impressed.
What am I to do, given the situation? Do I extend thanks?
